Which is better SE or SEL?
While both trim levels offer the same performance capabilities, the SEL offers more in terms of interior features and safety features. However the SEL does cost more than the SE.
One of the main differences between the SE and the SEL are the standard safety features. While advanced driver assistance features aren't available on the SE, the SEL comes with several high-tech safety systems - a rearview camera, lane change assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
With Ford, SE is for Special Edition though it really isn't special at all. The same with SEL which is Special Edition Limited which isn't limited at all either. Just like back in the day when they used XL for Extra Luxurious and 500 for the sporty version of a car as in Galaxie 500 XL.
SE: Sport Edition or Special Edition or Special Equipment. SL: Standard Level.
The end result is the LE means Luxury Edition, XLE means Executive Luxury Edition, and SE means Sport Edition. XE bucks the normal trend and actually stands for Extreme Sport Edition. Other common trims include the SR or Sport Rally and the SR5 or Sport Rally 5-speed.

The best way to determine which model you have is to look at the VIN. The 11th position in the VIN will tell you the trim level. If it's an “S,” then you have an SEL. If it's an “E,” then you likely have an SE.
It's a badge on the side of your car, which means that it is a special edition Ford truck. Basically, it's an abbreviation for Extra Luxurious Truck. But there's more to it than that. The XLT designation is given to vehicles that have been specially outfitted with features that make them both luxurious and efficient.
The SEL is packed with amenities that will appeal to those who desire plenty of interior luxuries, but the Titanium goes a step further and adds on upgraded upholstery and standard features that are part of a package option on the SEL.

Leather Seating on the Hyundai Elantra
On top of all of the other amazing features that the Elantra offers, they do offer available leather-trimmed seating. Leather seats have always been a symbol of luxury and status, going back many years. Originally, leather seats were only found in the most high-end vehicles.

Car Trim Naming

While both of these options are incredibly safe for the whole crew, the SEL offers up a few additional options that the SE lacks. The SEL offers a technology package that provides automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, smart cruise control, and an electronic parking brake.
