Is GW need-blind or need-aware? GW practices need-aware admissions, which allows us to meet as much of the financial need of as many students as possible. The admissions committee begins the evaluation process by reading each applicant's file based solely upon the merits of the application.

Getting into GW is extremely difficult. GW evaluates applicants carefully based on multiple criteria to decide who to admit, and who to deny or waitlist. In 2021, GW accepted 43% of all applicants, around 11,366 of the 26,405 students who applied.

George Washington University is ranked #63 in National Universities. Schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence.

Even if you take the ACT/SAT and don't do well, you may choose not to submit your scores. There's no harm in taking it as it can only benefit you if you get a high score.
At this point, we are recommending that the high school class of 2023 (current 11th graders/rising seniors) still consider taking the ACT or SAT, but whether or not they submit their scores should depend on test availability and personal performance.

Fall 2021 Entering JD Class
For our entering 1L class, the median LSAT is 167 and the median GPA is 3.83. Diversity in every sense is an important quality of our community and 56% identify as female and 31% identify as minority.
A minimum of 84 credits are required to graduate. At least 67 of those credits must be taken for a letter grade. Students who begin their law school careers at GW Law may therefore take up to 17 credits in credit/no credit (pass/fail) status.
Applicants should expect to receive a decision from the Law School within eight weeks of the date on which their files are complete.

Last year, GW admitted 220 legacies, nearly half of the 467 legacy applicants, according to data provided by Executive Dean for Undergraduate Admissions Kathryn Napper. That admit rate is nearly 20 percentage points higher than GW's 31.4 percent overall admit rate.
Overall, we still believe George Washington University is a high value school that is worth the cost. But if you can attend an even better school with a better reputation and lower cost, you'll get a much higher bang for your buck.

Harvard is the oldest institution of higher education in the US and consistently ranks #1 hardest Ivy League to get into. Founded in 1636, Harvard offers students a world-class education from some of the most brilliant professors in the world.
The Yale Admissions Office sends “likely letters” only to those applicants who have received an early review and who we believe are exceptionally strong as scholars, student- athletes, or contributors in other areas of special interest to the Yale community, including music and the arts.
Is submitting a low test score better than submitting none?
The same way a strong score definitely helps you get an edge if you submit it, a lower score might put a taint on your otherwise wonderful application. If you don't feel confident in your score and you don't have time to retake the test, since you have the option this cycle, you might as well take advantage of it.
Finally, consider College Board's Score Verification program if you saw a huge score drop on an SAT retake but can't figure out what could have caused it. You'll have to pay extra for the service, but the amount will be refunded if College Board did in fact mis-score your test.
Both tests are considered by most colleges a valid assessment. However, other sources beg to differ. These dissenting sources would most likely support the view that standardized tests, such as the ACT and SAT, should be abolished because they lack reliability, perfectly consistent administration, and content validity.
In March 2022, the California State University system announced that it will permanently switch to test-free admissions, starting with the incoming class of 2025. As of right now, no other California universities have indicated that they are moving away from requiring the ACT or SAT.
To get into one of the top 100 most selective schools, you will generally need to have a composite SAT score of at least 1200, preferably 1400 or more. Composite SAT scores of more than 1400 are in the top five percent of test takers.
Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT or ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test over the other.
The SAT can be intimidating if you don't know much about it, but it's far from an insurmountable challenge if you prepare properly and understand the format of the test. The SAT covers concepts that are typically taught in the first two years of high school, with a few more advanced concepts sprinkled into the mix.
According to the University of California Application Center, “UC will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships.” In other words, UC is test-blind for the high school class of 2022.
A score of 22 is a good score and is better than average. It puts you in the top 62nd percentile of the applicants for the test. You have a chance of getting admissions into some good colleges with 22 on the ACT.

What is many body perturbation theory?
Very simply put, many-body perturbation theory (MBPT) is a way to account for electron correlation by treating it as a perturbation to the Hartree-Fock wave function. It is a rather straightforward application of simple perturbation theory.
